If you have located property in your name (at your current/previous address) using the New Jersey Property Search website, you may be entitled to money that is being safeguarded by the State of New Jersey. To claim the property you should follow the 4-step instructions for filing a claim. Filing your claim through the website is the fastest way to get your claim processed. If you did not locate property on the NJ Property Search website you can still complete the claim inquiry form (link below) and the UPA will attempt to locate property on your behalf. This completed form can be either emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to one of the addresses below.
Once the claim inquiry form is received by our Claim Processing staff, a claim will be created and a thorough search of our unclaimed property database will be completed using the information you provided on the form. If property is successfully located a claim will be created and a Claim Packet will be mailed to you. The packet will detail the property that was located and what documentation will be needed to established ownership and complete your claim. See Acceptable credentials to establish your identity.
If we are unable to locate unclaimed property that we believe belongs to you, a letter notifying you of this will be issued.
