COVID-19 Resources for SHBP and SEHBP Members

The COVID-19 public health emergency and the national emergency ended on May 11, 2023. Please see the notices below from your health and prescription carriers for information:

To address the COVID-19 pandemic, the following information and resources are provided for members of the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) and School Employees' Health Benefits Program (SEHBP).

SHBP or SEHBP members who have provider or claim questions should contact their medical plan directly.

Horizon COVID-19 Resource Guide

Horizon Telemedicine – Effective February 3, 2022, the cost share waiver for telemedicine and telehealth visits not related to COVID-19 testing will end. SHBP and SEHBP members who use Horizon CareOnlineSM or another telemedicine service from their provider for any care other than to determine the need for a COVID-19 diagnostic test, will be subject to normal copayments along with any applicable coinsurance and/or deductibles for the covered services. See the Horizon member notification for more information.

Horizon Behavioral Health

  • AbleTo Support Program - You have access to tools and support programs to help you manage your emotional health.  It’s normal to feel sad, anxious or stressed at times. You can improve your emotional and physical health in eight-week programs with AbleTo. Connect with licensed and accredited professionals, one or two times a week, over the phone or online. You can also choose self-paced digital programs with the support of a coach. You can schedule your first visit online or call 866-287-1802.
  • Workit Health’s Telemedicine – Horizon members are now able to join an evidence-based digital treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders by signing up for Workit Health’s digital addiction care online or over the phone without a referral. Treatment is provided via Workit Health’s web and phone apps, and includes therapy from licensed counselors, medication management with buprenorphine/naloxone or naltrexone, and a personalized curriculum of evidence-based interactive courses. Members can sign up directly by calling 609-474-0106, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST M–F. Members can also access WorkIt via the Horizon Doctor Hospital Finder or can be referred to WorkIt via Horizon Health Guide or the Horizon Behavioral Health team.
  • myStrength – Digital Mental Health App based in clinical models like cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to improve and sustain health and well-being.
    • myStrength is available at no cost to SHBP/SEHBP Members for 90 days during the COVID-19 outbreak.

NJWELL offers online events such as fitness classes, health education webinars, and challenges that can help you get active and healthy.

  • MyChoice® Find a Provider – a free healthcare search and booking tool for active members of the SHBP and SEHBP. Log in to your mynjbenefitshub account and select the MyChoice® Find a Provider widget to get started, or log in through your myNewJersey account.

  • Wellbeats – A virtual fitness training vendor offering over 500 on-demand exercises, mindfulness, nutrition, and fitness classes, anytime and anywhere.

Resources For Living

For those concerned about COVID-19 and anxious about what to do, the Resources For Living program is now available for all members and non-members. You can receive confidential and timely connection to support resources in your community. You can call 1-833-327-2386 (TTY: 711) to speak with a Resources For Living consultant.

Free Crisis Support

  • Aetna Resources For Living has opened a free crisis support line — just call 1-866-370-4842 (TTY: 711).
  • All Medicare members have 24/7 access to the Aetna nurse medical line at 1-800-556-1555 (TTY: 711).
